Woodstock Community Choir
About Us
Founded in January 2015, the Woodstock Community Choir is the official choir of the City of Woodstock, Illinois. We present two main concerts each year—one in the spring and one in the fall—and also perform at civic and community events throughout the year.
Auditions are not required to join. The choir welcomes singers of all experience levels who share a love of music and singing.
The Woodstock Community Choir is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors and dedicated to building community through singing.

Our History
In March 2014, Cassandra Vohs-Demann and her team at A Place to Shine Music, including current Artistic Director Jessica Neihengen, began exploring the idea of a community choir in Woodstock. Through outreach efforts and community sing nights, they discovered strong local enthusiasm and launched the Woodstock Community Choir’s first season in January 2015.
Since then, the choir has performed at venues such as the Woodstock Opera House, Grace Lutheran Church, Unity Spiritual Center of Woodstock, Deer Path of Huntley, and the Raue Center in Crystal Lake, and has even been featured on television in Spain. We are deeply grateful for the community support that has helped the choir grow and thrive.
Thank You to the Woodstock Community Choir Establishing Members!
