Assistant Director

Jessica Neihengen grew up in Woodstock and has been performing from a very young age, singing in choirs since she was 8. Her love of music flourished in the choral program at Woodstock High School under the direction of Paul Rausch. She studied voice privately with Cassandra Vohs-Demann at A Place to Shine Music, and eventually began working as her assistant, then office manager.
Jessica taught private voice lessons through Cassandra’s studio as well. During her time at A Place to Shine Music, she helped produce songwriting workshops, performances, recitals, and helped to co-found the WCC alongside Cassandra Vohs-Demann in 2015.
Jessica received her B.M.ed from VanderCook College of Music in 2018 where she graduated as Valedictorian. She currently teaches general music, choir, and band at Grass Lake School District 36.

I've worn many hats over the years while living in MI and IL...from a Great Lakes researcher to college instructor to a government regulator. But the one role I enjoyed the most was trying to raise awareness and funds for a regional high school science bowl. Now I not only get to enjoy singing with a bunch of great people but also redirect my fundraising energy toward this wonderful community choir!
